ABOUT Stuffed Karela (Bitter Gourd) Fry RECIPE

We know that it is a really big deal to convince children to eat Karela or Bitter Gourd! But, bitter Gourd is so much healthy and good for children. I want to share this spacial recipe of Karela; which is approved by so many children. In fact, I have learned this recipe from my Mom and it have being my favourite since my childhood!

Ingredients Serving: 8

  1. Bitter gourd (karela): 4 pieces (big size)
  2. Gram flour (Besan): ½ cup
  3. Oil: 1/2 tablespoon (per Karela)
  4. Salt: to taste
  5. For the filling:
  6. Coconut (grated): 1cup
  7. Mustard seeds: 5 tbsp
  8. Poppy seeds: 5 tbsp
  9. Sugar: 1/4 teaspoon
  10. Salt: to taste

Instructions

  1. Take all the ingredients for filling together; make a paste from these and keep aside.
  2. Boil the bitter gourds well.
  3. Cut the bitter gourds horizontally in 2 parts; and Remove the seeds from both parts.
  4. Now, Stuff the bitter gourds with the paste.
  5. Make dough with the ½ cup gram flour and salt; and seal the karelas.
  6. Heat a fry pan; put 1/2 tablespoon oil at a time in it and Shallow fry the Karelas one by one.
  7. Cut the Karelas in 2 pieces and serve with hot Rice.
