ABOUT Baked Pumpkin Samosa RECIPE

Samosa is a popular fried snack with a savoury filling in Indian cuisines. Baked samosa is a healthier version with pumpkin and chana dal filling.

Ingredients Serving: 4

  1. Grated pumpkin 1 cup
  2. Chana dal 1/2 cup
  3. Chopped onions 1/2 cup
  4. Oil 1 tbs
  5. Coriander seeds 1 tsp
  6. Ajwain seeds 1 tsp
  7. Asafodita 1 tsp
  8. Green chilli and ginger paste 1 tsp
  9. Dabili masala 1 tbs
  10. Salt
  11. Sugar 1 tsp
  12. Aamchur powder 1 tsp
  13. Dhanya jeera powder 1 tbs
  14. For covering
  15. Maida 1/2 cup
  16. Wheat flour 1/2 cup
  17. Salt
  18. Ajawain seeds 1 tsp
  19. Baking powder 1/2 tsp
  20. Dry yeast 1/2 tsp
  21. Oil 2 tbs
  22. Ghee 2 tbs
  23. Water
  24. Oil 1 tbs for greasing on samosa

Instructions

  1. Soak Chana daal for 3 to 4 hours. Cook it in boiling water do not over cook it.
  2. Remove the water.
  3. Take maida, wheat flour, salt, dry yeast, ajwain, sugar,oil and ghee mix it make a soft dough with water. Rest it for 1 hour.
  4. In a pan take 1 tbs oil ajwain seeds and coriander seeds for tadaka.
  5. Add Asafodita in tadaka add chopped onions and chill ginger paste cook it turns to golden brown.
  6. Add grated pumpkin, Dabili masala, Dhanya jeera powder, Aamchur powder, sugar, salt cook for 2 minutes.
  7. Add boiled Chana daal. Mix well remove from heat. Cool it.
  8. Take the samosa dough mix it make 5 parts.
  9. Roll it on rolling pan divide it in 2 parts.
  10. Take one part make a cone shape from straight side.
  11. Fill the stuffing.
  12. Seal the open part and make the proper shape of samoa.
  13. Put all samosa in greased baking tray apply oil with brush on samosa.
  14. Bake the samosa in preheated oven at 180*c for 20 minutes or till it turns to golden brown.
  15. Remove the try after 15 minutes again apply oil with brush turn the samosa again bake for 5 minutes. Hot hot and taste baked samosa is ready to serve.
