ABOUT Poppy seed crusted honey lemon chicken RECIPE

I made this on a cold winter evening and served it up with crisp potato smileys, some creamy mashed potatoes and a rustic egg bhurji. I promise you, this dish will warm your insides and make your family happy.

Ingredients Serving: 4

  1. 8-10 medium sized chicken pieces (I used some with bones)
  2. 2 tsp golden honey
  3. 3 tsps lemon juice
  4. 1 tsp freshly ground pepper
  5. 1 tsp ginger juice
  6. 3 tbsps Poppy seeds
  7. Rock salt to taste
  8. 4 tbsps Sunflower oil


  1. Marinate the chicken with lemon juice, honey, pepper and ginger juice and rest it for an hour.
  2. Add the rock salt to this marinade.
  3. Heat the oil in a shallow non-stick pan on a medium flame.
  4. Take the chicken pieces one by one and coat it with the poppy seeds before frying them on the pan.
  5. Serve with your choice of accompaniments.
