Coconut Nankhatai

Ingredients to make Coconut Nankhatai

  • 1/4 cup maida (all purpose flour)
  • 1/4 cup wheat flour
  • 1/4 cup coconut powder
  • 1/4 cup ghee (chilled) (measure after melting then freeze it)
  • 2 pinch of cardamom powder
  • 1/4 tsp baking powder
  • 1 pinch sodium bicarbonate

How to make Coconut Nankhatai

  1. Take a deep bowl, add sugar with ghee and beat it till it becomes light and white in colour.
  2. In another bowl, sieve the maida, wheat flour, baking powder and sodium bicarbonate in it.
  3. Now add the flour mixture into the ghee mixture. Make a soft dough using soft hands.
  4. If the dough is a little dry then we can add 1-2 tsp milk. Now make small balls of walnut shapes and keep it in the refrigerator for 10 mins.
  5. Preheat the oven for 7 mins at 200 degrees celsius.
  6. Bake for 15 mins at 200 degrees celsius in the middle rack of the oven.
  7. Once cooked, let it cool in a wire rack and serve them warm.

My Tip:

We can also add cocoa powder to make some chocolatey nankhatai.
