Bhindi kadhi is basically roasted ladies finger boiled in a tempered flavored yoghurt gravy which is cooked with gram flour (besan). Its simple n humble if you are fed up of having regular kadhi then try this variation I am quite certain you'd love it. I have served hot with steamed rice .spicy n tangy n above all its so yummy.. So do make this kadhi with jeera rice. The cumin flavored rice taste amazing with bhindi kadhi.

Ingredients Serving: 4

  1. Lady finger 250 grams
  2. Fresh tomato puree 2 cup
  3. Chopped onion 1 cup
  4. Chopped green chillies 3
  5. Curry leaves 7 to 8
  6. Cooking oil one tablespoon
  7. Sour yoghurt 300 grams
  8. besan or gram flour one tablespoon
  9. turmeric powder half teaspoon
  10. Red chilli powder half teaspoon
  11. Dry red chillies 4
  12. salt to taste
  13. Panch phoran seeds half tablespoon ajwain kalonji jeera mustard seed and fenugreek seeds
  14. asafoetida (Hing powder) 1/4 teaspoon
  15. Chopped fresh coriander leaves 1 cup


  1. Clean wash and dry the lady finger dry with kitchen towel
  2. Remove bottom and tip and then cut into an inch pieces .
  3. Heat oil in the Kadai and add all Panch phoran seeds curry leaves asafetida powder dry and green chillies then add chopped onion and cutted lady finger
  4. Then fly into 10 to 15 minutes add all masala salt and tomato puree fry well 5 to 10 minutes
  5. Take card and gram flour into mixer jar mix well this mixture at some water
  6. This mixture head into lady finger and boy 5 to 10 minutes at water thickness of kadhi as your choice
  7. After boiling Ganesh with fresh coriander leaves
  8. You are tasty lady finger curry is ready for serve you can hot serve eat with plain rice
