A delicious stuffed gilki recipe which can be served with just some roti or paratha on the side.

Ingredients Serving: 4

  1. 8-10 peanuts
  2. Til(optional) [sesame seeds] - 2 tsp
  3. Salt to taste
  4. Garam masala powder 1/2 tsp
  5. Coriander powder - 2 tsp
  6. Roasted jeera powder 1/2 tsp
  7. Turmeric powder 1/2 tsp
  8. Amchoor powder or lemon juice 1 tsp
  9. Dhaniya or coriander.
  10. Oil-3 tablespoons.
  11. Sugar- 1/2 tsp
  12. Gilki (500 grams) - wash and cut it into halves.

Instructions

  1. Roast peanuts and sesame seeds, till they smell. Cool them for sometime.Grind the peanuts in a mixer grinder.
  2. Take a bowl and mix all the ingredients as listed above - peanuts and all the powders , sugar.
  3. Cut the gilkis into vertical halves.
  4. Now stuff the gilkis with the prepared stuffing.
  5. Take a pan , put some oil into it. place all the stuffed gilkis and then cook these on a low flame.
  6. Cover with the lid. And check it intermittently, if required pour little water to make the gilkis tender.
  7. Once done, the gilkis will float. Serve hot.
