ABOUT Bottlegourd Halwa RECIPE

This kheer is extremely healthy. Why ? Because it has bottlegourd in it which helps reduce cholestrol. Hence, you can eat this kheer without the guilt of extra calories

Ingredients Serving: 4

  1. 1 and ½ cup grated lauki
  2. 2 and ½ cup milk
  3. 1/3rd cup sugar
  4. 4-5 strands of saffron
  5. 4 cardamom crushed
  6. 1 tbsp ghee
  7. 1 tbsp chopped almond/cashew nuts and raisins

Instructions

  1. Heat ghee in pan. Add lauki and cook and for 5 minutes on low.
  2. Add milk,saffron and cook lauki in milk till reduces to 1/3rd. Stir the milk at regulat intervals to prevent it sticking to bottom.
  3. Add sugar,chopped dry fruits and crushed cardamom at this time and cook for 4-5 minutes more.
  4. Switch off the flame and allow the mixture to cook.
  5. Serve lauki ki kheer chilled.
