ABOUT TAMARIND TOMATO RASAM RECIPE

South Indian tamarind tomato rasam, which is spicy and delicious.

Ingredients Serving: 2

  1. Small lemon size tamarind
  2. 1 tomato
  3. 1/2 tsp jeera
  4. 1/2 tsp black pepper
  5. 1 tsp dhaniya
  6. 3 dry red chilis
  7. 1/2 tbs oil
  8. 1/3 tsp mustard seeds
  9. few curry leaves
  10. Few coriander leaves
  11. Salt as per need

Instructions

  1. Roast cumin seeds, black pepper, dhaniya and Red
  2. Blend roasted ingrediance with garlic and Curry leaves
  3. Blend to a semi fine consistency
  4. Squeeze the soaked tamarind and tomatos into pulp. Strain and keep aside.
  5. Heat oil in a pan. Sizzle with mustard seeds and curry leaves
  6. Add the semi coarsely powdered cumin, black pepper and garlic along with turmeric powder.
  7. Add the tamarind and tomato pulp. Add water and stir well. season with salt.
  8. Bring everything to boil and add coriander leaves
  9. Serve with hot rice
