Spicy curry made with badis, to be served with some steamed rice.

Ingredients Serving: 3

  1. masala Badi 6pcs
  2. Grated onion 1 large
  3. garlic paste 1 tablespoon
  4. turmeric powder 1/4th teaspoon
  5. tomato 1 medium
  6. chilly powder as per taste
  7. sugar 1 teaspoon
  8. cumin powder - 1 tsp
  9. Garam masala powder 1 teaspoon
  10. salt as per taste
  11. coriander powder - 1 tsp


  1. Heat oil and add salt. Break the masala badis to chunks and deep fry them, keep aside.
  2. When fully red, pick up and keep aside
  3. Add sugar to oil and as it turns brown, add onion and garlic. Put salt, turmeric powder and stir
  4. Add jeera, dhania powder and stir
  5. Put tomato puree , chilly powder and fry the masala nicely
  6. Add the fried badis and stir well
  7. As the oil starts leaving, add warm water and simmer.
  8. After 2-3 mins, bring to boil
  9. As water evaporates, turn off the gas and sprinkle garam masala powder and cover with a lid.
  10. Serve hot with roti or paratha
