ABOUT Dragon chicken RECIPE

Since I am a chicken lover, I keep experimenting on chicken dishes. I have learnt this recipe from my college restaurant which is easy to cook but it has alot of ingredients.

Ingredients Serving: 4

  1. Boneless Chicken Breast- 500 grams (cut into thin strips)
  2. Oil - 1 tbsp
  3. Coriander leaves or Spring Onion for garnishing
  4. Oil as required to deep fry
  5. For the Marination:
  6. Red Chilli Paste - 2 tsp (dry red chillies grounded)
  7. Egg - 1
  8. Corn Flour / Corn Starch - 1/4 cup
  9. All Purpose Flour / Maida - 1/2 cup
  10. Ginger Garlic Paste - 1 tbsp
  11. Pepper - 1 tsp
  12. For the Sauce:
  13. Dry Red Chilli - 3
  14. Cashews - 4 tbsp broken into small pieces
  15. Onion - 1 large sliced
  16. Capsicum / Bell Peppers - 1 sliced
  17. Ginger Garlic Paste - 1 tbsp
  18. Dark Soya sauce - 1 tsp
  19. Red Chilli Paste - 1 tsp (ground up dry red chillies)
  20. Ajinomotto for taste, a pinch
  21. Tomato Ketchup - 2 tbsp
  22. Salt to taste
  23. Sugar - 1 tsp
  24. Dark Soya Sauce - 1 tsp

Instructions

  1. Take chicken a bowl and add in all the marination ingredients. Mix well and let it marinate for 15  minutes.
  2. Next, heat some oil for deep frying. Once the oil is hot, drop in the chicken pieces in batches and fry till they turn golden in colour. Drain and set aside.
  3. Heat oil in a separate pan. Add in dry red chilli and cashews and fry till the cashews turn golden brown in colour.
  4. Now add in the onions and bell peppers and toss it well in the oil. Then add in the ginger garlic paste and saute for a minute.
  5. Next add in the red chilli paste, soy sauce, tomato ketchup, salt, ajinomoto, sugar and mix well.
  6. Cook this for a couple of minutes till the water evaporates and the sauce thickens.
  7. Now add in the fried chicken and toss it well in the sauce. Add in the chopped coriander or spring onion and mix well.
  8. Serve it hot to enjoy!
