ABOUT Rich Pound Cake RECIPE

Great with a cup of Tea. The addition of cream produces a tender and delicate crumb.

Ingredients Serving: 6

  1. All purpose flour(maida)- 1 ½ cups
  2. Sugar(powdered)- 1 ½ cups
  3. Butter- 100gms
  4. Eggs- 3
  5. Cream- ½ cup
  6. Vanilla extract- 1 tsp
  7. Salt- 1/4 tsp
  8. Baking powder- 1 tsp


  1. Make sure all the ingredients are at room temperature.
  2. Grease and line a loaf pan.
  3. In a large and clean bowl cream the butter and sugar together till fluffy.
  4. Add the eggs, one at a time, beating well after each addition.
  5. Now add the cream and vanilla essence and mix well.
  6. Sieve the flour, baking powder and salt together and fold into the above mixture with a light hand.
  7. Pour into the baking tin.
  8. Place in a COLD oven and turn on oven to 180 deg. C.
  9. Bake for an hour or till golden on top.
  10. A toothpick inserted in the center should come out clean.
