ABOUT Achaari Chicken RECIPE

A tempting red coloured dish with a ting of tanginess in it. People who water their mouths for pickles are gonna like it. Takes good the 2nd day

Ingredients Serving: 4

  1. Marination (best when marinated for 8 hrs or more)
  2. Chicken 500 gms
  3. Rice flour 2 tbsb
  4. Bafat powder or chilly powder 2 tbsb
  5. Curd 1 tbsp
  6. Turmeric powder 1/2 tsp
  7. Pepper powder 1/2 tsp
  8. Coriander powder 1/2 tsp
  9. Cumin powder 1/4 tsp
  10. Red food colour 3 pinch
  11. Lemon 1/2 (juice)
  12. Ginger garlic paste 1 tbsp
  13. Salt to taste
  14. Other ingredients
  15. Onion 2
  16. Lemon 1/2 (juice)
  17. Spring onions little
  18. Green chilly 2
  19. Amul garlic n herbs butter 2 tbsp
  20. Thokku pickle - as per taste ( as some are tangy, salty or spicy


  1. Heat amul garlic and herbs butter in a pan with a tsp of oil to avoid getting burnt.
  2. Arrange the Chicken pieces one by one After a minute turn the pieces to get a golden colour on both the sides.
  3. Add sliced onions and 1/4th cup water and close the pan for the chicken to cook on low flame
  4. Once cooked stir well and add the mixture of lemon juice and any pickle preferably thokku
  5. Garnish with spring onions and green chillies
