ABOUT Bottle gourd chutney. RECIPE

Bottle gourd chutney is hot, sweet, sour and little spicy kind of dish. This chutney goes well with chapati, paratha, rice, dose, idli.

Ingredients Serving: 5

  1. Bottle gourd half
  2. tamarind little
  3. green chilies 5
  4. grated coconut 3 tbsp
  5. sugar 1 tbsp
  6. salt according to the taste
  7. for seasoning:
  8. mustered seeds little
  9. curry leaves 4 to 5
  10. urad dal 1 tbsp
  11. hing a pinch
  12. refined oil 1 tbsp

Instructions

  1. Wash the bottle gourd cleanly. In a vessel, add bottle gourd, tamarind and green chilies. Cook it well. Then keep aside for it to cool.
  2. In a mixer, add grated coconut, all the above mentioned ingredients, salt and sugar. Grind all these to a fine paste.
  3. Prepare a seasoning of mustered seeds, urad dal. When the mustered seeds splutters add curry leaves and hing.
  4. Serve this with chapathi, dosa, rice, parata, idli...etc.
