Love smoked meat but don’t own one of those fancy smokers? Here’s a recipe using simple equipment that you already possess and an indulgent Syracuse Spice Rub by SPRIG Gourmet.

Ingredients Serving: 4

  1. 1 lb Pork Chops
  2. 2 tbsp SPRIG Gourmet Syracuse Spice Blend
  3. Juice of 2 Lemons
  4. 2 tbsp Olive Oil
  5. 2 tbsp Honey
  6. 1/2 cup White Rice
  7. 2 tbsp Brown Sugar
  8. 3 tbsp Chai tea Powder

Instructions

  1. In a zip lock bag, add the pork chops, Syracuse spice blend, lemon juice, olive oil and honey. Shake well to combine. Let the pork chops marinate for 30 minutes.
  2. In a small bowl, add white rice, brown sugar and chai tea powder.
  3. Line a wok with aluminium foil in two layers. Place the rice mixture in the center of the foil. Place a wire cooling rack over the pan.
  4. Dab the pork chops dry and place on the rack which acts as a steamer and cover with aluminium foil.
  5. Heat the pan on high heat until the smoking process begins. Cook the pork chops for 15 to 20 minutes or until cooked, turning half way through.
