ABOUT Syracuse Chilli Basa Fry RECIPE

Basa ia a Vietnamese fish which is low in fat content. A fish with no bones and moist flesh can be cooked in myraid ways at home and in the restaurant kitchen. It is available in India in frozen form.

Ingredients Serving: 2

  1. 1 basa fish fillet cubes
  2. 1 big onion diced
  3. Salt to taste
  4. 1/4 teaspoon turmeric
  5. 1/2 teaspoon red chilli powder
  6. 3 teaspoons sprig 7 in one spice
  7. 1/2 cup rice flour
  8. 4 tablespoons cornflour
  9. Oil for frying
  10. green chillies for garnish

Instructions

  1. Take basa fillet, clean, wash and pat dry.
  2. Cut the fillet into cubes and keep aside.
  3. Prepare a coating batter by mixing rice flour, cornflour, all the spices and water.
  4. Heat oil in a wok till hot.
  5. Coat all the fish cubes in the batter and fry till golden brown.
  6. In the remaining batter coat the diced onuons and fry them too. The crunchiness of the onions with the flavour of spices is amazing.
  7. Fry the fish and the onions till golden brown.
  8. Garnish with chopped green chillies or coriander leaves and serve hot with lemon, hot and sweet sauce.
