ABOUT Oats chicken haleem RECIPE

This is a famous middles eastern dish which is relished in any season .it's creamy texture and mixture of wheat dals and oats and chicken gives nice combination and taste.

Ingredients Serving: 6

  1. Broken wheat 250 gms, soaked for 30 mins
  2. Chicken boneless 1/4 kg
  3. Fried onions 1 cup
  4. Moong dal , chana dal, urad dal, masoor dal all handful wash and soaked for a few minutes
  5. Onions 4, finely chopped
  6. Tomatoes 2, finely chopped
  7. Ginger garlic paste 1 tbsp each
  8. Green chillies 2, slit and cut
  9. Oats 1 cup, grinded
  10. Oil 4 tbsp
  11. Red chilli powder, salt , jeera powder, coriander powder, garam masala powder - all 1 tbsp.

Instructions

  1. First of all pressure cook the dals and wheat for three to four whistles
  2. Meanwhile in a pan put some oil add onions and fry till brown add ginger garlic paste and tomatoes then all spice powders and salt as well cook till chicken till tender and then mash the chicken with masher
  3. Add the chicken mixture to wheat and dal mixture keep on mashing with masher then add chicken stock.
  4. Add oats and cook for 2 mins then finally add lemon juice if required and few fried onions .
  5. Serve with lemon wedges coriander leaves and fried onions
