Besan barfi in Gravy

Ingredients to make Besan barfi in Gravy

  • 2 cup besan
  • 4 tomatoes finely chopped
  • 1teaspoon yellow mustard
  • 1 teaspoon dhaniya powder
  • 2-3 red pepper
  • Half spoon turmeric
  • salt to taste
  • 5-6 fenugreek seeds
  • oil
  • Green Dhaniya for Garnishing

How to make Besan barfi in Gravy

  1. Grind together yellow mustard, dhaniya powder, turmeric, salt and red pepper together to a smooth paste.
  2. Take a bowl, add besan and a teaspoon of paste prepared. Mix them well. Add water and keep mixing till a smooth batter is formed.
  3. Heat 2 teaspoon oil in a non-stick kadhai and put all the batter prepared in it. Keep stirring till the water dries and lumps are formed. Turn off the gas.
  4. Take a round plate and grease it with oil and put the lumps formed, on the plate and give it a round shape by hands or a spatula. Keep in the fridge.
  5. Now heat 3 spoons oil in kadhai. When it is hot put fenugreek seeds. When it starts crackling, add masala paste prepared along with finely chopped tomatoes. Now stir till the masala leaves the oil.
  6. After 15 minutes take out the besan lump from the fridge and cut into any shape you desire. Put a pan on the gas stove. Heat oil to fry these besan barfis. Keep them aside.
  7. Check the masala if it has left oil add 2 cups of water and let it boil for sometime. Now turn off the gas and add Besan Barfi in gravy. Close the lid and leave it for 10 minutes.
  8. Garnish with dhaniya and serve hot.
