ABOUT Capsicum Zunka(Capsicum Besan sabzi) RECIPE

This is a quick and tasty maharashtrian style sabzi made from capsicum and chickpea flour.This can be eaten with bhakri,chapatti,paratha aur as side dish with dal rice.

Ingredients Serving: 4

  1. Capsicum-250 gms
  2. Besan-3 tbsp
  3. Onion-1
  4. Garlic-5-6 cloves
  5. Green chilli-1
  6. Oil-2 tbsp
  7. Mustard seeds-1/2 tsp
  8. Cumin seeds-1/2 tsp
  9. Asafoetida-1/4 tsp
  10. Turmeric-1/2 tsp
  11. Chilli powder-1 tsp
  12. Coriander cumin powder-2 tsp
  13. Salt
  14. Coriander for garnishing

Instructions

  1. Wash and chop capsicum into medium size pieces.
  2. Take besan in a pan and dry roast for 2 to 3 minutes on slow flame.
  3. Chop garlic,onion and green chilli.
  4. Remove roasted besan in a plate.No need to brown the colour.
  5. Take 2 tbsp oil in pan.Add mustard and cumin seeds.Then add asafoetida.
  6. Add garlic,green chillies and onion.Saute for a minute.
  7. Now add capsicum pieces and mix.
  8. Cover and cook for 3 minutes.
  9. Add all spices like turmeric,chilli powder,coriander and salt.
  10. Mix and cover.Cook for 2 minutes.
  11. Now add besan gradually .First sprinkle 1 tbsp and mix.Then again 1 tbsp and mix.Again last spoon and mix .Cook for a minute covered and your capsicum zunka is ready to eat with bhakri,roti or paratha.

Made this today .. it is delicious.. my son doesn't eat capsicums..but he relished it and ate a bowl full of this zunka..made this with dal and phulka
