Ingredients Serving: 10

  1. flour 1 kg
  2. butter 700 gms
  3. Grain sugar 1 kg
  4. Ammonium bicarbonate 8 gms
  5. poppy seeds 40 gms
  6. Cardomom essence 7 ml
  7. Grated coconut 800 gms
  8. Custard powder 6 gms
  9. eggs (Optional)


  1. Sieve the flour. Whisk well to cream the fat and whisk continuously till it becomes soft and add ammonia bicarbonate dissolved in water.
  2. Add cardamom powder/ essence, custard powder and poppy seeds and mix well.
  3. Add sugar and flour. Mix roughly. Add grated coconut and mix well.
  4. Place small pieces of the above mixture on a greased baking tray.
  5. Bake at 160 degree centigrade for 20 to 25 minutes.
  6. Let it cool and enjoy!
