ABOUT Herbed Cheese Bread RECIPE

A quick, easy no-yeast, delicious bread with pockets of cheese and speckled with an assortment of warm herbs and spices blended to perfection in Sprig's Tangier mix

Ingredients Serving: 10

  1. 2 tbsp Tangier mix
  2. 2¼ cups plain flour
  3. 2 tsp baking powder
  4. ½ tsp Baking soda
  5. 1 tsp Salt
  6. 2 tbsp olive oil
  7. 2 Eggs
  8. 2 cheese slices, roughly cut
  9. 1 cup plus 2 tablespoon milk
  10. 1 tbsp Vinegar

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 180 degrees C. Grease a loaf tin
  2. Put vinegar in the milk and allow to curdle
  3. Mix the 2 tbsp of tangier mix and olive oil in a small bowl
  4. Sift the dry Ingredients- flour, baking powder, baking soda and salt in a large bowl.
  5. Combine the wet Ingredients into a bowl and whisk to combine.
  6. Pour all the remaining ingredients except cheese into the bowl of dry ingredients and mix until just combined.
  7. Pour half the batter into the tin. Put half of the cheese slices on top and then pour the rest of the batter over it. Put the rest of the cheese slices on top
  8. Bake for 40-45 minutes, or until the top is golden. Insert a skewer in the center to check if it comes out clean
  9. Allow to cool for 10-15 minutes before slicing.
