ABOUT Makkai aaloo methi poori RECIPE

These crispy puris are made up of Maize flour knead with boiled potatoes. Accompany these puris with raita and pickled ginger and green chilies.

Ingredients Serving: 4

  1. Maize flour 2 cups
  2. Boiled and mashed potatoes 1 cup
  3. Fenugreek leaves 2 tbsp
  4. Green chilies 4
  5. Salt 1 tesp
  6. Oil to deep fry

Instructions

  1. In a mixing bowl take maize flour, mashed potatoes, fenugreek leaves ,chopped green chilies and salt.
  2. Bind into a soft dough using Luke warm water.
  3. Divide the dough into lemon sized balls.
  4. Heat oil in a pan.
  5. Take a plastic sheet. Grease it with oil.
  6. Place one dough ball over it and spread into a small, little thick disc, patting with greased fingers.
  7. Carefully lift by flipping the plastic sheet and drop into hot oil.
  8. Deep fry on both sides till golden and crispy.
  9. Drain onto a kitchen towel.
  10. Serve with favourite raita and pickled ginger and green chilies.
