ABOUT THE SPICE CAKE RECIPE

Usually we make cakes with different types of flavors, fruits, dry fruits etc. This time I made a cake with the spices. A pure blend of american spice sponsored by Sprig. The blend of nutmeg, parsley, lime juice and chives. This cake gave a texture of both sweet and tangy flavor and a bit of chili also.

Ingredients Serving: 4

  1. All purpose flour- 1 1/2 cup
  2. Sprig American Spice blend - 1 1/2 tbsp
  3. Sugar - 1 cup
  4. Oil - 1/4 cup
  5. Curd - 1/2 cup
  6. Baking soda - 1 tbsp
  7. Baking Powder - tbsp
  8. Milk - 1/4 cup
  9. Rose Essence - 3-4 drops

Instructions

  1. Mix curd with baking soda in a bowl
  2. Keep aside for 5 minutes.
  3. It will rise upto double to its quantity.
  4. Now in a pan, mix sugar, oil,milk, baking powder, sprig spice blend and rose essence.
  5. Mix well.
  6. Sieve the all purpose flour in it and mix with spatula
  7. Add the curd mix into it
  8. Keep mixing so that no lumps formed
  9. Pre heat the oven for 7-8 minutes at 150 degree
  10. Grease the baking pan
  11. Pour the batter into it
  12. Bake the cake for 45 minutes at 150 degree
  13. Check with tester or tooth pick, if comes clean then take it out
  14. Else bake it for 5-7 minutes more
  15. After taking out, when it comes to room temperature, de mould it.
  16. Slice it when it cools down.
  17. One bite of the cake will give you spicy, sweet and bit chili flavor.
