Akki rotti is one of the popular breakfasts of Karnataka. It can be done in many ways. When you are not planned much about breakfasts this becomes easy.  Here is my version with simple available ingredients.

Ingredients Serving: 3

  1. Rice flour 2 cups
  2. water 2.25 cup
  3. Grated carrots 1
  4. onion 1 big finely chopped
  5. coriander leaves 1 small bunch Finely chopped
  6. Green chilly 1 chopped
  7. Curry leaves 2 spring
  8. salt
  9. oil to grease on tawa


  1. In a kadai , keep water and salt for boiling.
  2. Once boiled reduce the flame , add rice flour , mix and keep covered for half  minute and turn off the heat.
  3. When it is still warm mix all the above ingredients and form a dough.
  4. Make one small orange size ball.
  5. Take a plastic sheet , grease with oil and press the ball using rotti presser.
  6. Remove from sheet, Cook on hot tawa in medium flame by applying butter,  oil or ghee. Flip over and cook the other side.
  7. Serve with your favorite chutney.
