Ingredients Serving: 3

  1. For filling
  2. Jaggary 1/2cup
  3. Freshly grated coconut 1/2 cup
  4. Poha or flattened rice 1 cup
  5. Salt 1/8tsp ( optional)
  6. Ghee 1tsp
  7. Turmeric a pinch
  8. Black sesame seeds 1tsp
  9. For upper cover
  10. Rice powder 1cup
  11. Water 3/4cup

Instructions

  1. Firstly mix jaggery coconut nd salt properly..
  2. Add Poha in this mixer..mix well with the help of hand nd keep aside
  3. Heat ghee add sesame seeds to it..allow it to splutter
  4. Pour this on poha.mix well nd keep aside
  5. Now prepare outer cover
  6. Boil water and pour this on rise flour. Add pinch of turmeric powder... make a smooth dough..if u want u can also add 1/2tsp ghee in it...it will give nice aroma
  7. Now prepare a lemon sized ball from the dough..
  8. Flatten the ball with the help of palm.
  9. Fill Poha mixer in it..and give a karanji shape or whichever u like..I sprinkled some sesame seeds on top of the karanji..it tastes awesome
  10. Add water in a steamer...steam water and put this karanji ..and steam for 20 min
  11. After 20 min ..open the lid..aloow it to come room temperature
  12. Serve it for morning bf or evening tea. They r awesome to taste..I hv sprinkled coconut flakes on it...to gv final finishing
