RAGI MILLET CHOCOLATE CAKE

Ingredients to make RAGI MILLET CHOCOLATE CAKE

  • Ragi millet flour 1 cup
  • whole wheat flour 1 cup
  • Cocoa powder 1/2 cup
  • Small bananas mashed 2
  • Milk 1 cup
  • walnuts 1/2 cup
  • Flax seed powder 1 tablespoon
  • eggs 2
  • Powdered sugar 11/3 cup
  • Baking powder 21/2 teaspoon
  • Oil (use sunflower or olive oil only or a mixture of both) 1/3 rd cup
  • Vanilla essence 1 teaspoon

How to make RAGI MILLET CHOCOLATE CAKE

  1. Sieve ragi millet flour,whole wheat flour, coco powder, powdered sugar, flax seeds and baking powder. Mix the dry ingredients together.
  2. Blend together with milk and banana.
  3. Break 2 eggs in a big bowl, add oil and milk blended above with banana.
  4. Whisk together with an egg whisk.
  5. Add vanilla essence to it.
  6. Next pour the dry ingredients little by little while whisking the batter continuously.
  7. Add Walnuts and flax seeds to the batter.
  8. At this time, preheat the oven at 180 degree centigrade for about 12 minutes.
  9. Whisk the batter for the next 10 minutes. Use an electric beater if possible.
  10. Lubricate a cake tin with butter or oil spray and pour the batter to the cake tin. Gently tap the tin from the sides and let it rest for a minute.
  11. Finally, put the cake tin inside the preheated oven and bake the cake at 180 degree centigrade for 40 to 45 minutes.
  12. Do a tooth pick test to check that the cake is baked nicely and evenly.
