Aloo masala puri is a very popular Indian breakfast dish. It is easily prepared and it is a good tiffin recipe for kids. Aloo masala puri is made with potatoes, wheat flour and green chillies to enhance the taste.  Here we bring to you the recipe of aloo masala puri.

Ingredients Serving: 4

  1. Potato(boiled and mashed) - 1
  2. Wheat flour - 1 cup
  3. Asafoetida (hing) - 1/4 teaspon
  4. Carom seeds (Ajwain) - 1/4 teaspoon
  5. Coriander powder - 1/4 teaspoon
  6. Turmeric powder/haldi - 1/4 teaspoon
  7. Red chilli powder - 1/4 teaspoon
  8. Fennel seeds (Saunf) - 1/4 teaspoon
  9. Sesame seeds (Til seeds) - 1/4 teaspoon
  10. Oil - 1 teaspoon
  11. Salt to taste
  12. Coriander leaves(finely chopped) - 1 tablespoon
  13. Oil - for deep frying


  1. Add wheat flour to mashed potato along with red chili powder, coriander powder, asafoetida/hing, turmeric/haldi powder, carom seeds, fennel seeds, sesame seeds, coriander leaves, salt and oil.
  2. Mix them well and add water to form a dough. Keep it aside for few minutes.
  3. Make small round balls of this dough and roll them in the form of a puri
  4. Apply oil on the rolling pin and rolling board and carefully roll them in to Puri.
  5. Deep fry the puri.
  6. Aloo masala puri is ready to be served.
