Mohanthal barfi/besan barfi is a very famous North-Indian sweet .. It is made from gram four and lots of dry fruits... It is very rich dessert and of course mouth-watering .
Perfect diwali delight.
In a bowl , add besan , 2 tbsp ghee and 2 tbsp milk and mix well using your finger tips till no lumps remain.... In a pan add ghee , once ghee melt and hot then add besan mixture and roast it until it become golden brown on medium gas
Stir it continuously , make sure besan should not burn. (It will take approx 10-12 minutes) While roasting make sure there are no lumps left in the mixture. Turn the gas on low
Add some chopped almonds and pistcahios. Add cardamom powder and saffron and mix well..
Now add powdered sugar and mix well. Add water and mix well. Mix fast and you will see the mixture thickening. Turn off the gas and mix whole besan mixture for 2 minutes continuously.
Now grease the plate with ghee... Take out all besan mixture on the plate and press it lightly. Garnish with chopped pistachios.
keep it aside for 20 minutes then cut the slices into square shape or desire shape.........
