ABOUT Mysore Pak RECIPE

Ghee Mysore Pak is authentic Karnataka sweet prepared in ghee and sugar syrup. It is originated in Mysore made with generous amount of ghee sugar gram flour and cardamom.

Ingredients Serving: 1

  1. Besan/ gram flour 1/2 cup
  2. Sugar 1/2 cup
  3. Water 4 tablespoon or little more
  4. Cardamom powder a pinch
  5. Ghee 1/2 cup +4 tablespoon
  6. Oil 4 tablespoon
  7. For Garnish
  8. Saffron strands little
  9. Pistachio powder
  10. Sliced almonds

Instructions

  1. Heat a heavy bottom pan,add sugar and water
  2. Wait till the sugar syrup comes to one string consistency.
  3. Dry roast besan flour till beautiful aroma comes.Switch it off and keep it aside.
  4. In a bowl of water add a drop sugar syrup and check the consistency.Sift besan flour without any lumps.
  5. Heat ghee in a kadhai
  6. Add 1/2 of the ghee to the besan and mix well
  7. Pour the one string consistency sugar syrup to the besan mixture
  8. Mix well without any lumps
  9. Add leftover ghee to the mixture and mix well.
  10. When the mixture starts leaving the sides of the kadai,it is done.Pour the mixture to the greased square tin.When it is warm slice it and serve.
