ABOUT Baked Sunflower pull apart bread RECIPE

This is a nice, soft and delicious baked bread with a nice sunflower shape. The lots of herbs and spices and the freshness of the home baked bread can easily make this bread a star attraction of any party.

Ingredients Serving: 5

  1. FOR FILLING:
  2. Boiled and mashed potatoes 1 cup
  3. Garlic crushed 1 teaspoon
  4. Ginger crushed 1 teaspoon
  5. Onion finely chopped 2 tablespoon
  6. Coriander leaves a handful
  7. Salt to taste
  8. Oil 2 tablespoon
  9. Mint leave 2 sprigs
  10. Oregano 1/2 teaspoon for sprinkling
  11. Green chili chopped as per taste
  12. FOR DOUGH:
  13. All purpose flour (APF) 2 1/2 cups
  14. Sugar 3 1/2 teaspoon
  15. Salt 1 teaspoon
  16. Water 3/4 cup
  17. Milk powder 1 1/2 tablespoon
  18. Instant yeast 2 teaspoon
  19. Butter 3 tablespoon

Instructions

  1. FOR THE FILLING
  2. Heat oil in a pan.
  3. Add ginger, garlic, green chili and chopped onion.
  4. Saute for 2 minutes
  5. Next add the boiled and mashed potato, salt.
  6. Mix until combined.
  7. Add oregano and chopped dhanya. Filling is ready.
  8. FOR BREAD:
  9. In a bowl add yeast, sugar and Luke warm water. Wait for 10 minutes for the yeast to bloom.
  10. Add flour, salt, milk powder and the bloomed yeast mix.
  11. Add butter and knead the dough for 10 minutes. Set the dough aside for 1 hour for proving. It will be doubled in volume.
  12. After one hour punch the dough to remove air and divide into two parts. Roll the parts into 6" diameter.
  13. One one part place some dough in the center and place some around the edges leaving about 1 inch space from side.
  14. Place the another rolled dough over it.
  15. Place one cup or glass in the center. Press the two dough's in the sides to lock them with one another.
  16. Now divide them in 12 equal pieces leaving the center intact.
  17. Turn each piece upwards so that they will look like petals of flower.
  18. At last remove the cup and press some oregano or sesme seeds.
  19. Keep again for 10 minutes for rising.
  20. Brush with butter and bake in a 180C preheated oven for 30 mins or until nice golden brown in colour.
