ABOUT Banana Choco-Chip Walnut Cake RECIPE

This one uses a ready cake mix, a few mushy and over-ripe bananas and a handful of walnuts resulting in a super soft, moist and rich decadent cake.

Ingredients Serving: 6

  1. Pillsbury chocolate cake mix 1
  2. Eggs 2
  3. Vegetable oil 1/4 cup
  4. Water/milk 1/2 cup
  5. Very ripe bananas, mashed 2
  6. Handful of walnuts, chopped
  7. Chocolate chips (optional)

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 170 degrees Celsius.
  2. Peel and mash bananas, add oil to them and beat well for half a minute. Add eggs one by one, beating well to mix them after each addition.
  3. Sift the cake mix. Add the cake mix and water in 3 batches into the banana mixture alternating after each addition.
  4. Mix on low speed with a hand mixer for a minute, and then on medium speed for another one minute.
  5. Add cake mix (you can reserve some from the above cake mix to coat) coated walnuts and Choco-chips in the cake batter.
  6. Pour the batter into the prepared cake pan and bake for 30-40 mins till a toothpick inserted comes out clean or the cake springs back when touched.
  7. Cool in the pan for 5-10 mins and then remove on the wire rack to cool.
