ABOUT Kalakand RECIPE

Its a sweet dish made from chena n milk ..

Ingredients Serving: 6

  1. Milk 2 kilograms
  2. Sugar 1 cup
  3. Lemon juice 3 teaspoons
  4. Kesar few strands
  5. Chopped pistachio and badam 1/4 cup
  6. Ghee for gressing the thali

Instructions

  1. Take two sauce pans and add one kilogram milk in each separately
  2. Boil one kilogram milk for making chena/cottage cheese
  3. In another pan keep stirring milk so that it will not stick to the bottom
  4. Now first pan in witch we made Chena/cottage chees strain Chena and keep aside
  5. Add Chena in another milk when it reduces to half
  6. Keep stirring and add sugar
  7. Now add Kesar and choped dry fruits..
  8. Keep some dry fruits for garnishing
  9. Now mix the milk and when it turns to kalakand consistency off the glass
  10. Pour kalakand mixture in greesed thali and let it set for some time
  11. Cut into desired pieces and garnish with dryfruits...
  12. It's ready to eat
