It's a very delicious recipe, creamy in texture and mouth watering.

Ingredients Serving: 8

  1. Basmati Rice 1 cup
  2. Milk 1/2 litre
  3. Water(according to the requirement) 1 cup
  4. Sugar 1/2 cup
  5. Milkmaid 1/2 tin
  6. Custard powder 1 tablespoon
  7. Cardamom powder 1 teaspoon
  8. Pinch of salt
  9. Dry roasted nuts(cashew,almonds or pistachios)


  1. Soak basmati rice for 1hr and drain the water. Pat dry it.
  2. Blend it coarsely.
  3. Dry roast all the nuts. Blend half of the nuts coarsely and keep remaining for garnishing.
  4. Take a heavy bottom wok, put milk into it. When it gets hot,add the coarsed rice powder slowly so that no lumps are formed.
  5. Simmer the gas and stir the mixture frequently, so that rice powder don't stick to the bottom.
  6. When the mixture gets little bit thickened, add the custard paste(2tbsp milk with 1tbsp custard powder) ,water,milkmaid, sugar, salt.
  7. Stir again for 5mins, add the coarsely prepared nut powder and cardamom powder.
  8. Finally, garnish with remaining roasted nuts and serve hot.
