Ingredients Serving: 4

  1. For dal stuffing
  2. Oil 1/4 cup
  3. Yellow moong dal (cleaned, and soaked for 2-3 hrs) 1/4 cup
  4. Green chili and ginger paste 2 tablespoon
  5. Red chili powder 1/2 teaspoon
  6. Coriander powder 1/2 teaspoon
  7. Fennel seeds powder 3/4 teaspoon
  8. Cumin powder / jeera powder 1/4 teaspoon
  9. Dry mango powder / amchur powder 1/2 teaspoon
  10. Garam masala 1/4 teaspoon
  11. Clove powder (optional...)1/4 teaspoon
  12. Hing a pinch
  13. Black salt 1/4 teaspoon
  14. Salt to taste
  15. Water 1/2 cup
  16. For Dough
  17. Maida / plain flour / all-purpose flour 2 cup
  18. Rice flour 2 tablespoon
  19. Oil.. 1/4 cup + 2 tbsp
  20. Salt .. 1 teaspoon
  21. Soda a pinch
  22. Water to knead to dough
  23. Oil for greasing (optional)

Instructions

  1. Prepare dal stuffing (dal masala) Soak dal for 2-3 hours and drain well. Grind dal in a grinder and make coarsely paste.
  2. heat oil in a pan....Add Green chili and ginger paste stir it for few seconds then add grinded dal... and stir for 8-10 minutes on medium high gas... Stir continuously...
  3. then Add water and spices except fennel powder..... stir for 3-4 minutes more.. Add fennel powder and stir 2-3 minutes more
  4. turn off the gas and remove the pan from the gas and stir more for few seconds (if pan is hot then dal masala can burn). Take it out in another bowl.
  5. Dal Masala is ready... keep it aside for cool... now take 1/2 tablespoon dal masala and make ladoo(ball) .... and Repeat it with all........
  6. Lets prepare dough take a bowl, add Maida, rice flour, salt and baking soda and mix well. Now add oil and mix together until all oil mix into the flour . (Dough consistency should be bread crumb)
  7. Add water gradually and knead soft dough ... Cover dough with damp clothe...for 15 minutes.
  8. Now its time for Air fryer........... Preheat the air fryer on 180 F for 5 minutes.
  9. Divide the dough into equal parts and make balls... Roll it and put one dal ball/laddo on the and sealed it properly and make the ball shape (as seen in pics)
  10. Repeat it with all the dough balls and make kachodis..
  11. Now kachodis are ready to go in airfryer...
  12. Keep the kachodis in airfryer.. Set the temperature 160 F for 10 minutes Now Turn the kachodis Then set the temperature 160 F for 10 minutes
  13. now grease the kachodis with the light oil and set the temperature 180 F for 5 minutes
  14. Now turn the kachodis and set the temperature 180 F for 3-4 minutes (for more golden brown in color).
  15. Your healthy, delicious and hot kachodis are ready. Serve with green chutney and sweet chutney
  16. Similarly, you can make large kachodis... After filling kachodis sealed properly and roll it with your palm or roller...and set same temperature as above and make kachodis . Serve kachodis with aloo sabji..
