A delightful fruit dessert that has a distinct flavour of cinnamon, nutmeg and cloves.

Apricot Crumble

Ingredients to make Apricot Crumble

  • 8 cups of apricots, pitted and coarsely chopped
  • 200 grams flour
  • 115 grams butter
  • 115 grams brown sugar
  • 60 ml water
  • 2 teaspoons cinnamon, grounded
  • 1/4 teaspoon nutmeg, grounded
  • 1/4 teaspoon cloves, grounded
  • 140 grams almonds, without skins, halved
  • 3 tablespoons lemon juice, freshly squeezed

How to make Apricot Crumble

  1. Preheat the oven to 175 degrees Celsius. Also grease a 9x13-inch baking dish or 8 individual dishes.
  2. Take a bowl and put in the apricots along with the lemon juice. Set this aside.
  3. In a separate bowl, mix the flour, almonds and cinnamon together, then rub in the butter to form crumbs. Stir in the sugar and sprinkle over the apricot mixture.
  4. Bake this for 40 minutes till the crumble is crisp and golden,
  5. Serve warm with a side of ice cream for best taste.
