ABOUT Carrot jaggery rice RECIPE

At Diwali night we prepare these rice and relish it in dinner after pooja.it's my grand sasu ma's recipe which we are using from many years.

Ingredients Serving: 5

  1. Rice 1 bowl
  2. Jaggery 1 bowl
  3. Grated carrots 1 bowl
  4. Saunf 1 teaspoon
  5. Desi ghee 2 tablespoon
  6. Chopped dry fruits of your choice 2-3 tablespoon
  7. Water 3 bowls

Instructions

  1. Clean,wash and soak rice for 2 hours.
  2. Wash ,peel and grate carrots and keep aside.
  3. Boil jaggery pieces in 3 bowl water till it's melted.
  4. Heat ghee in a kadai and add saunf and grated carrots ,dry fruits and saute them for 3-4 minutes.
  5. Now add jaggery water and soaked rice in it.after one boil simmer the gas.
  6. Let it cook covered on low flame,stir occasionally.
  7. When water dries and grains are cooked, switch off the gas and let it rest for 5 minutes.enjoy these meethe meethe(sweet) rice with aam ka achar(mango pickle)
