ABOUT COLOCASIA CRISPY RECIPE

Colocasia (chepangkilangu in Tamil) is a root vegetable mostly used by Southern parts of India. It can be prepared in many ways like fries kadi etc. One of the mushy vegetable which can be fried crispy with a small twist by adding gram flour to it.

Ingredients Serving: 2

  1. Colocasia 1/4kg
  2. Chilli powder 1 teaspoon
  3. Jeera powder 1/4 teaspoon
  4. Turmeric powder 1/4kg
  5. Bengal gram flour 1 tablespoon
  6. Salt to taste
  7. Mustard seeds 1 teaspoon
  8. Urad dhal 1teaspoon
  9. Oil 3 tablespoon
  10. Curry leaves 2sprig
  11. Guava leaves three numbers

Instructions

  1. Boil colocasia with guava leaves in pressure cooker for 10 minutes.
  2. Peel the skin and cut into round slices.
  3. Add chilli, jeera and tumeric powder and salt to taste.
  4. Sprinkle Bengal gram flour on the colocasia to get the crispness.
  5. Heat oil in a pan.
  6. Add mustard seed, urad dhal and Bengal gram.
  7. Let it splutter.
  8. Add curry leaves.
  9. Add colocasia and fry for 20 minutes in low flame.
  10. Musy musy vegetable will turn crisp.
  11. Golden, Crispy crunchy Colocasia fry is ready.
