Yummy chana dal and jaggery stuffing soft smooth silky sweetened and flavoured stuffed rotis

Ingredients Serving: 6

  1. Chana dal 2 cups
  2. jaggery grated or chopped 1 and 1/2 cup
  3. nutmeg powder 1 teaspoon
  4. cardamom powder 1/4 th teaspoon
  5. maida 2 cups
  6. oil 1 tablespoon
  7. Pinch of salt
  8. Milk 1 cup
  9. ghee for shallow frying as per requirement


  1. Wash n soak chana dal for half an hour
  2. Add sufficient water and pressure cook chana dal till soft
  3. Remove excess water from cooked dal and grind it in to smooth paste
  4. Add jaggery, nutmeg powder and Cardamom powder to dal paste
  5. Cook this mixture on low flame till thick ..with consistent Stirring and turning in between
  6. Puran or stuffing is ready
  7. In a mixing bowl take maida, pinch of salt and oil ..
  8. Knead a soft dough using milk and keep aside covered for some time .. knead it again to smoothen it .
  9. Take a tennis ball size dough , roll it little
  10. Keep sufficient ready puran or stuffing in the middle
  11. Seal it from all sides
  12. Dust it with some flour and roll out a thin chapati
  13. Heat tawa and cook from both sides
  14. Add ghee and shallow fry from both sides till golden and pinkish in colour
  15. Add some more ghee before Serving . Serve hot or cold it tastes equally Delicious
