ABOUT Fried Calamari RECIPE

Crispy fried calamari is simple, quick and finger licking good!

Ingredients Serving: 3

  1. 500 g Squid with tentacles clean and cut into 1/2 inch rings
  2. 2 cups Milk
  3. 1 tsp Lemon juice
  4. 2 cups Flour
  5. Salt and pepper to taste
  6. 2 tsp Red pepper powder
  7. 4 Eggs
  8. Olive oil/vegetable oil for frying
  9. Lemon wedges for serving
  10. 2 tsp Garlic sauce
  11. Onion rings for garnish

Instructions

  1. Mix milk and lemon in a bowl. Wait for 5 mins until it thickens.
  2. Add garlic sauce.
  3. Add the squid pieces to the sour milk and soak for 5 hours.
  4. In a bowl mix flour, salt and pepper.
  5. In a separate bowl whisk eggs.
  6. Remove the soaked squid and drain. Dip in egg and then flour mixture.
  7. Heat oil to 350C in a heavy utensil and deep fry the squid pieces until crisp and golden brown. Drain oil on a paper towel.
  8. Serve hot with lemon wedges and any dip of your choice. Garnish with onions.
