ABOUT Yangnyeom Dak (Korean sweet and spicy fried chicken) RECIPE

This is a very popular chicken recipe of Korea and it is widely available in Hong Kong. All the tourists who visits Hongkong like this chicken fried item as it is extremely tasty and spicy. It has a tanginess of lime, sweetness of honey and spicy also due to pepper hot paste. It is like a festival for your taste buds.

Ingredients Serving: 3

  1. Chicken cut into small pieces 250 gm
  2. Salt to taste
  3. Black pepper 1 tsp
  4. Garlic paste 1/2 tsp
  5. Cornstarch 4 tbsp
  6. All purpose flour 3 tbsp
  7. 1 egg
  8. 1 tsp baking powder
  9. Vegetable Oil
  10. Garlic chopped 1 tsp
  11. Tomato sauce 4 tbsp
  12. 1 tsp pepper paste
  13. 1 tbsp honey
  14. 1 tbsp lime juice
  15. Roasted sesame seeds
  16. Cucumber, tomato, onion for decoration

Instructions

  1. Wash the chicken, pat dry with dry kitchen towel.
  2. Add salt, pepper 1/2 tsp and garlic paste.
  3. Keep aside for 10 minutes.
  4. Mix cornstarch, all purpose flour, black pepper, baking powder and egg.
  5. Add this batter to chicken and completely coat each and every piece.
  6. Deep fry in oil until golden.
  7. For sauce heat 2 tsp oil in a pan.
  8. Add chopped garlic.
  9. Add tomato sauce, honey, pepper paste and lemon juice.
  10. Cook for 2 minutes. Check seasoning.
  11. Add the fried chicken pieces and mix well.
  12. Each chicken piece should be coated with sauce.
  13. Sprinkle sesame seeds and serve hot.
