Hot and sour yam, goes nice with rasam

Ingredients Serving: 4

  1. Yam 250 gram
  2. tamarind lemon size
  3. chilly powder 1 tablespoon
  4. shallots 15 numbers
  5. turmeric powder 1/2 teaspoon
  6. hing a pinch
  7. salt to taste
  8. Gingely oil 1/4 cup
  9. mustard 1 teaspoon
  10. Urud dal split 1 tablespoon
  11. curry leaves

Instructions

  1. Peel yam and pressure cook
  2. Chop shallots
  3. Take thick juice of tamarind
  4. fry mustard and dal
  5. Add curry leaves
  6. Add chopped shallots and saute it
  7. Meanwhile in a bowl mix cooked and mashed yam, turmeric powder, chilly powder, salt , hing and tamarind juice
  8. Saute it thoroughly till dry
