As my grandson is suffering with severe Stomach Infection and advised No wheat flour, no Maida, No gram flour and No milk, I was trying different combinations and YES I Tried Something A Kid would Love when sick. My Mom was preparing Sago kheer( salty without milk) for us when we were sick. So I tried to make something innovative.

Ingredients Serving: 3

  1. Rice flakes 1 1/2 cup
  2. Sago 1/2 cup
  3. jeera roasted 1 tbsp
  4. Pepper 1 tsp
  5. Rice flour 3 tbsp
  6. Green gram Sprouts 2 tbsp ( optional)
  7. Curd 2 tbsp
  8. Water 2 cups + more while making
  9. Butter / Clarified butter /oil for shallow frying
  10. Salt to taste
  11. Finely grated ginger 2 tsp


  1. Dry grind Rice flakes and soak in required water to make batter.
  2. Dry grind Sago and make a thin batter.
  3. Keep both the batters aside for 2 hrs.
  4. Steam green gram Sprouts without water and grind.
  5. After 2 hrs mix both the batter. Add salt, pepper and curd. Mix it nicely.
  6. Add sprout mixture Add 2 tbsp water to grated ginger, squeeze out juice and add to the batter.
  7. Add rice flour. Add water to make Dosa batter consistency. (little thinner than regular dosa batter)
  8. Now heat a nonstick flat pan. Add oil/ ghee/ butter.
  9. Pour a laddle full of batter on let it cook on a high flame.
  10. Flip over when first side is cooked well ( brown) and you can turn dosa without much effort.
  11. Serve your kid with curd by adding some salt and ground zeera.
