ABOUT Idli, dhosa, uttapam RECIPE

Made with less rice, more dal. Same batter can be used for all three. For dhosa add more water.

Ingredients Serving: 4

  1. Rice - 1 cup
  2. Urad Dal - 1 cup
  3. Salt, oil

Instructions

  1. Soak rice & dal together for minimum 3 hour in hot water
  2. Grind to a smooth paste, keep over night
  3. Add salt
  4. Add water if needed. Batter must be of dropping consistency
  5. Oil idli stand, pour 1 tbsp in each, steam for 15 min
  6. Since more dal is used, it will not come out of the stand very smoothly
