Want some healthy snacks. Then try these yummy soya fingers. Very simple and easy to prepare, relish them as a tea-time snack or as an appetizer.with any chutney of your choice.

Ingredients Serving: 4

  1. 1/2 cup soya granules
  2. salt to taste
  3. 1/4 tsp. turmeric powder
  4. 1 tsp. red chili powder
  5. 1 tsp. coriander-cumin powder
  6. 1/2 tsp. garam masala powder
  7. 1/4 tsp. pepper powder
  8. 1-2 green chilies, chopped
  9. 1 onion, chopped
  10. 1 tsp. ginger-garlic, grated
  11. 2-3 tbsp. coriander leaves, chopped
  12. 1/2 cup rice flour
  13. 2-3 tbsp. plain flour
  14. 1/2 cup bread crumbs
  15. oil to deep fry


  1. Soak the soya granules in hot water for 10 minutes. Then drain and squeeze out the water. Mix with onion, ginger, garlic, chilies, coriander leaves and all the dry spices.
  2. Give a long shape to it and refrigerate for some time. Make a batter with the plain flour and a pinch of salt.
  3. Roll the soya fingers in some rice flour and then dip into the plain flour batter. Roll them in the breadcrumbs and deep fry them in hot oil till golden in colour and crisp.
  4. Drain on a kitchen towel and transfer to a serving dish. Serve as a tea-time snack or as appetizers with some homemade chutney or tomato ketchup.
