Traditionally, baati is prepared in the tandoori oven. You can even bake baati in the conventional oven. This appe pan method also works well, baati turns out similar to the oven baked baatis.

Ingredients Serving: 3

  1. Wheat flour 1 cup
  2. Samolina 2 table spoon
  3. Ghee melted 4 tablespoon
  4. Salt to tast
  5. Ajwain 1 tea spon
  6. Coriander corasly grind 1 tablespoon
  7. Soda pinch of
  8. Turmeric powder1/2teaspoon
  9. Water 1/2cup

Instructions

  1. In a bowl, add wheat flour, salt, sooji and mix well. Add melted ghee and mix well.
  2. Add water little by little and make a firm dough. Cover and set the dough for 10 - 15 mins.
  3. Divide the dough into small balls and make a dent gently with ur thumb as I shown in the picture.
  4. Grease appe pan with oil
  5. place the rolled balls in the molds. Cover and cook over a low heat on both the sides until the baati is cooked thoroughly. The baatis should be hard on both outside and inside. 
  6. Cook from all side by change into back .
  7. Dip batis into ghee
  8. Allow the baatis to cool completely and grind to a coarse powder using a mixer or food processor, add melted ghee, melted jaggery and make churma . Serve with dal gatte ka saag ..
