ABOUT Soya Chapli Kebab RECIPE

This is my version of the famous Chapli Kebab, also known as Peshawari Kebab. It is a very popular street food in Peshawar and let me share with you this yummy Kebab made of soya granules. Tried it for the first time and it came out just perfect. You need to take a bite of it to know what I mean.

Ingredients Serving: 4

  1. 1 cup soya granules
  2. 2 tbsp. whole wheat flour
  3. 1 onion, chopped
  4. 1 tomato, chopped
  5. 1 tsp. ginger-garlic, grated
  6. 1-2 green chilies, chopped
  7. 2-3 tbsp. coriander leaves, chopped
  8. 1/2 tsp. turmeric powder
  9. salt to taste
  10. 1 tsp. coriander-cumin powder
  11. 1/2 tsp. garam masala powder
  12. 1 tbsp. red chili flakes
  13. 1/2 tsp. pepper powder
  14. 1 tsp. lime juice
  15. 1 egg
  16. few tomato slices
  17. oil to shallow fry

Instructions

  1. Soak the soya granules in hot water for 10 minutes. Squeeze out the water and blend till smooth. Mix with the rest of the ingredients (except tomato slices and oil).
  2. Divide into large equal size portions. Give a shape of a patty and place a slice of tomato on each.
  3. Shallow fry them in some oil till done on both sides, Drain on a kitchen towel and serve with any homemade chutney of your choice.
