ABOUT Travel Dosa RECIPE

Travel friendly dosa is an aromatic and flavorful recipe . Easily digestible and a must try recipe during travelling as there is no need to carry a separate chutney :). The mint leaves are packed with antioxidants and phytonutrients necessary for a healthy body.

Ingredients Serving: 4

  1. Bengal Gram - 1.5 tablespoon
  2. Black Gram - 1.5 tablespoon
  3. Cumin seeds - 1 teaspoon
  4. Mustard seeds - 1 teaspoon
  5. Chopped Onion - 1/2 cup
  6. Salt to taste
  7. Turmeric powder- 1/4 teaspoon
  8. Chopped green chilly - 2 tablespoon
  9. Mint leaves - 3/4 cup
  10. Dosa batter - as required
  11. Oil for frying

Instructions

  1. Heat oil in a pan. Fry the mint leaves over a low flame. Allow it to rest for sometime.
  2. At room temperature, make a paste of the fried mint leaves in a dry mixie jar.
  3. Heat oil in a pan. Add mustard seeds and cumin seeds . Once the seeds start popping up, add the bengal gram,black gram and saute for a minute.
  4. Now add chopped onions, green chilly and saute until they turn tender and golden in color.
  5. Add turmeric powder and salt. Mix well over a medium flame and cook for a minute. Turn off the flame.
  6. Transfer this mixture into the vessel containing the dosa batter. Combine and mix again.
  7. Then add the mint paste and combine well.
  8. Heat a cast iron pan or a non-stick pan over a medium flame. Ensure to smear oil if it is a cast iron pan. Spread the dosa batter in a circular way on the pan and allow it to cook.
  9. Sprinkle some oil on top and edges. When the base is cooked evenly , turn it carefully and allow it to cook on the other side also.
  10. Transfer it into a serving plate when it is cooked evenly. Follow the above process to prepare the remaining dosas.
  11. The aromatic and flavorful "travel - friendly dosa " is ready to be served.
