This is very healthy recipe as it contains Spinach and Cabbage which is very good for health. This recipe can be used as a starter or as a side dish of a meal.

Ingredients Serving: 4

  1. Chopped Spinach leaves 1 Bowl
  2. Chopped Cabbage 1/2 Bowl
  3. Ginger Garlic paste 1 Teaspoon
  4. Turmeric powder 1/4 Teaspoon
  5. Red chilli powder 1/2 Teaspoon
  6. Salt as per taste
  7. Tamarind pulp 1 Teaspoon
  8. Jaggery as per taste
  9. Besan 4 to 5 Tablespoons
  10. Rice flour 2 Teaspoons
  11. Garam Masala 1/2 Teaspoon
  12. Chopped coriander leaves 1/2 cup
  13. White sesame 1 Teaspoon
  14. Oil for frying


  1. Take a bowl and add all abovementioned ingredients.
  2. Mix it well together without adding water in it.
  3. Apply little oil in a cooker pan and press the mixture in it.
  4. Keep the cooker on a Gas stove to get steam as we do for idli.
  5. After cooling cut it into pieces as per your choice.
  6. Then deep fry those vadya till you get nice golden colour.
