Ingredients Serving: 4

  1. Sprouted Moong(whole green gram) - 4 cups
  2. Chopped Spinach - 2 cups
  3. Besan (bengal gram floor) - 5 tbsp
  4. 3 to 4 green chillies (mirchi)
  5. 6 to 7 garlic flakes (lahsoon)
  6. Half inch ginger (adrak)
  7. 4 tsp fruit salt
  8. 3 tbsp oil
  9. 15 to 20 curry leaves (karipatta)
  10. 1tbsp sesame seeds(til)
  11. 1 tsp mustard seed (rai)
  12. 1 tsp cumin seed (jeera)
  13. Asafoetida (hing)
  14. Salt
  15. Sugar

Instructions

  1. Grind the Moong n Spinach in a mixer together adding little water to a smooth paste.
  2. Make a paste of garlic, chilly n ginger
  3. Take the paste in a bowl, add besan, salt and garlic chilly paste to it.
  4. Mix the batter well.
  5. Add water to make the batter in a pouring consistency.
  6. Just before steaming add the fruit salt in a batter, sprinkle little water over it. And mix it gently.
  7. Pour the batter in a greased plate evenly.
  8. Steam it nearly 10 to 12 min.
  9. Check if dhokla is done.
  10. Heat the pan, add mustard seeds, cumin seeds, asafoetida, sesame seeds n curry leaves. Add some water in this tempering. Then add salt n sugar as per the taste.
  11. Now sprinkle this tempering over the dhokla.
  12. Cut into pieces.
  13. Serve with chutney.
