These Spinach, Beets and Chocolate Brownies are especially a guilt-free and a drool-worthy treat for you and your friends.

Ingredients Serving: 8

  1. 6 tbsp unsalted butter
  2. 1 tbsp unsweetened cocoa powder
  3. 1 tsp instant coffee powder
  4. 140 gms dark chocolate, coarsely chopped (or 3/4 cup semi-sweet chocolate chips)
  5. 1/2 cup sugar
  6. 1/2 cup buttermilk
  7. 1/2 cup veggie puree (Beets and Spinach Puree:Make a very smooth puree with 3 cups raw baby spinach, 1 cup fresh beets, 2-3 tbsp water and a half teaspoon lemon juice in the food processor)
  8. 1/2 cup + 2 tbsp Flour Mix (50% All purpose and 50% Wheat flour)
  9. 2 tsp pure vanilla extract
  10. 1/4 tsp salt
  11. 1/2 tsp cinnamon
  12. 1/2 cup chopped walnuts


  1. Preheat the oven to 180 degrees.Grease a 9 inch square baking pan.
  2. Use double boiler method, Melt the butter and dark chocolate together. Remove from heat and allow the chocolate-butter sauce to slightly cool
  3. In another bowl, stir together the buttermilk, vanilla, sugar, and veggie Puree. Combine this mixture with the cooled chocolate sauce.
  4. In a mixing bowl, stir together Flour , cinnamon, coffee powder, cocoa powder, and salt. Add this to the chocolate mixture and mix thoroughly.
  5. Mix in the chopped walnuts then pour the batter into the baking pan.Bake for 30 to 35 minutes, until a toothpick comes out almost clean.
  6. Allow to cool completely in pan . Cut in squares
  7. Serve AS-IS or sprinkle chocolate sauce on top
