Dahi Bhindi

Ingredients to make Dahi Bhindi

  • 300 grams okra , Chopped thin slices
  • 1 onion finely chopped
  • 2 green chilies finely chopped
  • 1 tbsp garlic crushed
  • 1/2 tsp turmeric powder
  • 1 tsp red chili powder
  • 1 sprig curry leaves
  • 4 tbsp curd
  • 1 tsp mustard seeds
  • 1 tsp cumin seeds
  • 1 tsp fennel seeds
  • Salt and sugar to taste
  • 1 tsp dry mango powder
  • 3 tbsp oil

How to make Dahi Bhindi

  1. Heat 2 tbsp oil in a non stick pan.Add finely chopped bhindi and cook till it turns soft.
  2. Add turmeric powder and red chili powder and mix well
  3. Add salt , mix well and transfer to a plate
  4. Add 1 tbsp oil in the same pan. Add mustard seeds, cumin seeds and fennel seeds and splutter
  5. Add onions, green chilies, garlic and saute until onions turn golden brown, Add curry leaves and mix
  6. Add Curd and then cooked okra to onion mixture
  7. Add sugar to taste and cook for 10 minutes
  8. Serve hot with rice or roti
